Legacy Project Frequently Asked Questions 

How will I know if my money goes to the intended purpose?
Monthly reports will be posted to this website showing all funds received and spent.  Legacy Project financial reports will group funds by sponsored class with alumni classes as sub-groups.

Is the money tax deductible?
The Association is incorporated  as a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation in the State of Louisiana.  It is eligible to receive tax deductible contributions.  Whether or not your contribution is deductible depends on your specific situation.  Please consult your tax advisor.  The Association will provide a written statement to all who contribute more than $250 per year.

How or will we receive a report on the finances of the Legacy Project?
Monthly reports will be posted to this website.

How or will our class be recognized for this project?
Class recognition will be based on the specific projects undertaken.  Some events/programs will lead to recognition, while others may not.

How long will this project last? (How long are we expected to contribute? i.e. yearly, etc.)
The Legacy Project is designed to be a perpetual program.  The goal is to mentor a class from the time they enter Alma J. Brown Elementary until they graduate from Grambling High School.

What are the benefits of giving to the Legacy Project?
The Legacy Project will allow us to give back to the schools that gave us so much.  It will also provide opportunities for mentoring and networking among the alumni participants.
